Seasalt Clothing is continuing with its trend of stylish wet weather gear! Every season they update the favourites such as the Seasalt Seaside Mac as well as introduce new styles. One of the new styles is the Seasalt St Michaels Coat which is a 3/4 length jacket in a versatile stone colour.
All of the Sea salt rain wear that we stock is fully waterproof, breathable and windproof and is classed as ‘performance wear’. As well as being well styled they are also machine washable! The swing tags on the coats boast that they have been tested on Cornish Cliff tops – well we can also personally vouch that they have been tested in Keswick – our Keswick Shop is only a few miles from Borrowdale which is officially the wettest valley in Britain!
The light weight Seasalt Hellweathers Mac are great since they will pack into any suitcase and yet the windproof factor means you will feel nice and warm. The Coat has a lovely fishtail detailing to the back and is available in Grey or Blue. Or if you prefer something brighter why not try the Seasalt Taylor Jacket in Chard (Pink).
Now for the techie bit …. exactly how waterproof are they?? All the waterproof coats (including the Seaside Mac which is made from organic cotton!) is 5000g w/r w/p 5000g m2 24h. In english that means that over a period of 24 hours the fabric can withstand 5000mm of water above it. The breathability aspect means that the fabric is permeable enough to allow tiny molecules of water vapour to pass through it, so perspiration can escape (5000g of water can pass through the fabric over a 24 hour period).
All of the rainwear has fully taped seams (an adhesive tape is sealed over the stitching by using heat to bond it to the reverse of the fabric – achieving a leak free seam!).
